Ferguson trying to get Ronaldo back to Old Trafford

Cristiano RonaldoThe Sun on Sunday is reporting today that Sir Alex Ferguson is on mission to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

The Portuguese superstar left United in 2009 joining Real Madrid for record breaking £80 million fee.

Since then he made a massive impact at Santiago Bernabeu but after already winning La Liga and Champions League titles there's hope for struggling Manchester that he will interested in move back to English Premier League which he's been always a big fan of.

United are currently on 4th place in the league but are facing a thought challenge from Liverpool, Tottenham and Southampton for the top 4 finish.

According to press rumours Manchester was already close to bringing him back 18 months ago but eventually failed back then. However now with personal involvement from Sir Alex the hopes are higher this time.

It's understood that Ronaldo would took place of on-loan forward Edison Cavani, who failed to make a real impact at Old Trafford and is not likely to stay at the club after the summer.

Real Madrid is currently leading the Primera Division table and after beating Schalke 04 is also in the next stage of Champions League with a decent chance of keeping the title won last season. If Ronaldo ends this season with both titles in his hand he might fancy a move back to Manchester as his job at Real would be pretty much done.
