Champions League Outstanding Fixtures
There are of course a couple of ties hanging in the balance. Four of the last-16 second legs are still to be played including Manchester City vs Real Madrid. These matches will be played on the 7th and 8th August.
It has not yet been announced whether these matches will be played at the home grounds as planned, or if a neutral venue will be decided. While safety is the biggest concern, some clubs would consider it unfair to not play at home during these ties given the away goal rule.
We’ll update this page when we know more.
The affected matches are:
Manchester City vs Real Madrid (2-1 aggregate)
Bayern Munich vs Chelsea (3-0 aggregate)
Juventus vs Lyon (0-1 aggregate)
Barcelona vs Napoli (1-1 aggregate)
When is the Champions League Quarter-Final and Semi-Final Draw?
A draw will take place on the 10th July to decide both the quarter and semi-final match-ups. All of these matches will be played in the ‘mini-tournament’ in Portugal. This has been confirmed by Uefa.
Champions League Upcoming Fixtures
The matches will be played at either Benfica’s Estádio do Sport stadium or the Estádio José Alvalade, the home of Sporting Lisbon. The dates for the single-game knockouts are:
Quarter Finals – 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th August
Semi-Finals – 18th and 19th August
Final – 23rd August
It's worth noting that kick-offs for all of the above games will be 20.00 BST.
If the match is level after the 90 minutes, extra time and penalties will be played if needed, with a winner will be named on the night.
Champions League Winner Odds
The odds for Europe’s top competition have been moving. This could be due to the way things have developed since the sudden stop to football. Newly crowned German Champions Bayern Munich have been cut to favorites at 11/4 (3.75) with Betfair. This will largely be due to the fact that they have been playing in competitive games more than their opponents.
However, it might be a good time to get on a team at a bigger price. The likes of the English Premier League and La Liga are returning to action, and teams will have plenty of time to prepare for one off clashes in August.
Take a look at the current odds on offer with Betfair:
|Bayern Munich||11/4 (3.75)||Germany|
|Manchester City||3/1 (4.0)||England|
|RB Leipzig||12/1 (13.0)||Germany|
|Atletico Madrid||12/1 (13.0)||Spain|
|Real Madrid||35/1 (36.0)||Spain|
It is also possible to bet each way on these, meaning you're backing a team to reach the final. On top of that, Betfair also offer odds on which country the trophy will be won for. Bear in mind that there are options when picking your bets.
All the best Champions League betting sites will offer variations of normal markets and may have special offers. Therefore, it's worth checking out a few betting sites.
