The Premier League campaign starts again for Tottenham and Manchester United on Friday night in what is a mouthwatering clash.
Jose Mourinho has guided Spurs slowly up the table since taking over and a win over his former club would lift his side to within one point of them.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has his eyes on Champions League qualification and needs a win to keep the pressure on Chelsea.
Both these sides will be gunning for a win, but who is better set for victory?

Tottenham vs Manchester United – The Form Guide
It’s been far from a stellar year from either side. Spurs have won only 11 of their 29 games, almost half the amount that had won at this stage last season (20). On top of that, they have lost two more matches.
A lot of this is said to have been down to them losing both Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min through injury, but it is also to do with their defending. Spurs have conceded more goals in 29 games than they did in 38 last campaign, keeping only four clean sheets. They are without a win in three league games and need to tighten up at the back should they catch their rivals.
Manchester United were finding some rhythm before the sudden break, winning three of their last five. In fact, they were unbeaten in their previous 11 matches in all competitions. Consistency has been the major issue for the Red Devils this season having drawn nine and lost eight.
Solskjaer’s side have made up some serious ground on Chelsea in fourth and are now only three points behind them. Unlike Spurs they have started to sharpen up in defence and have kept twice as many clean sheets (8).
What is the Team News?
The major news for both sides is the return of star players.
Harry Kane will lead the line for Spurs for the first time in 2020. The England captain has been sorely missed and will no doubt be in and amongst the action. The return of Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn in attack mean Spurs will finally pose a real threat going forward.
Mourinho also welcomes back goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. His commanding presence at the back will steady the ship giving Spurs a major boost.
The only big omission is that of Dele Alli. The midfielder landed himself in trouble with the FA over an ‘incident’ on his personal social media. As a result, the FA banned him for one match.
In the other dugout we expect Paul Pogba to be back in the starting XI for his first appearance since Boxing Day 2019. The Frenchman has been rumoured to be pushing for an exit but with Bruno Fernandes impressing, he might be persuaded to stay.
Marcus Rashford has also overcome a back injury which left him sidelined for a number of weeks. He will be the target man for United and cause problems for the Spurs back line.
Tottenham: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sessegnon; Dier, Fernandes, Ndombele; Bergwijn, Son; Kane
Man United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Matic, Pogba, Fernandes; James, Rashford, Martial
Tottenham vs Manchester United Latest Odds*
The match is difficult to predict, and the odds reflect that. Betfair have priced the home side as the outsiders at 15/8 (2.88) and going on the previous form, that seems fair.
However, with Kane and Lloris returning to the side, it could be great value.
Manchester United at available at 7/5 (2.4) with Betfair which could be considered short.
They are away from home and haven’t had much time to integrate Pogba and Rashford back in.
A draw could be the way to go here and at 23/10 (3.3) with Betfair, you’d get a decent price.
Tottenham vs Manchester United Score Prediction
With the return of top attackers, goals are expected at both ends. Spurs don’t have a great home record and were beaten by United in the reverse of this fixture.
Pogba could be instrumental along with Fernandes in midfield in providing key passes to the likes of Rashford upfront.
Therefore, we fancy a few goals here. A 2-1 win to United at 17/2 (9.5) with Betfair is our correct score prediction.
Tottenham vs Manchester United Tip
It will be a close match. Neither side has had much time to prepare and it is a game that could decide how successful each team have been this season. We reckon it will come down to a single goal.
Bearing in mind that there will be five substitutes available – the away side look to have the stronger bench. This could play a crucial role as players tire. This is why we’re giving the nod to the visitors.
