Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Next Club: Latest Odds and News, Barcelona, Real Madrid and More

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang becomes the next Arsenal Captain looking set to jump ship. In all likelihood, the Gabon international is heading out of the door this summer. He has been Arsenal’s top goalscorer the past two seasons picking up the Golden Boost award in the 2018/19 campaign and the Gunners will be hoping to hold on to their prized asset.

We’ll look at the top five options for his potential next move including the chances of staying at the Emirates, and the latest odds.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Next Club – 5 Most Probable Moves

Aubameyang has been stalling on his new contract with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid buzzing around him. Rumours are rife that he wants to leave and when a player wants to, they inevitably do move on. At 30 years old, he is unlikely to demand an eye-watering transfer fee which means that he will have plenty of suitors.

Aubameyang – Barcelona were Favourites to Sign Him

Although Real Madrid are being heavily linked with the Gabon International, it was arch-rivals Barcelona heading the betting. Betfair had the Catalan giants as heavy favourites with odds of 15/8 (2.87). The betting market has moved slightly but Barca remain the most likely destination, according to the bookies at least.

Barcelona have made no secret of the fact that they are looking for a Luiz Suarez replacement. Antoine Griezmann hasn’t struck up a partnership with Lionel Messi and the Spanish side have been struggling. Aubameyang would certainly bring goals, and his style would suit that of superstar Messi. His transfer fee and wages shouldn’t be a problem, but does he fit the bill as a long-term replacement at the age of 30? Time will tell.

Likelihood – High

Will Aubameyang Stay at Arsenal?

As much as the Gunners would like to hold on to him, it seems unlikely. The forward has scored 61 times in 97 appearances for the club but only has one year left on his contract. The board may want to cash in on him this summer for a fee of around £45m instead of letting him go for free next season.

On top of that, contract negotiations have come to a halt. The Gunners are reluctant to meet his wage demands of £300,000 a week. In the current market, you could argue that that is the going rate for a world-class striker. Arsenal are not renowned for splashing the cash, however, and we don’t expect them to stump it up. Furthermore, the Gunners look set for another season without Champions League football. Rumours suggest that as a result, Aubameyang has asked to leave.

Therefore, Aubameyang is effectively for sale.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Real Madrid Odds

Real Madrid have ramped up their interest in signing Aubameyang this summer. Los Blanco’s allegedly are ready and waiting with an offer. Zinedine Zidane is targeting the Arsenal captain as the man as his number one capture to replace the void left with Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure. Eden Hazard hasn’t impressed the World Cup-winning coach and could find himself on the market again in the near future.

Madrid would consider it something of a coup if they could snatch Aubameyang from under their rivals’ nose. Of course, there is a lot of appeal for a player joining Madrid. They are a club that have won the Champions League three times in the last four years and carry one of the most prestigious names in world football. Aubameyang could be tempted with the right offer.

Likelihood – High

Manchester United to Sign Aubameyang?

Whenever a big transfer story is swirling, Manchester United are never too far behind. The Red Devils are the most likely Premier League side to swoop for the Arsenal man with odds of 9/2 (5.5) at Betfair. It’s hard to say that Aubameyang wouldn’t be a good fit at the club as United are searching for a proven goalscorer. There is plenty of potential in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, but little in the way of experience. The red side of Manchester have an enviable budget and could easily pay whatever salary was demanded.

However, the Red Devils have been stung by big money moves lately with the likes of former Gunners man Alexis Sanchez. They may hold out for a younger player and with Harry Kane firmly on their radar, we’re not sure this move would materialize.

Furthermore, Champions League football is not guaranteed for Aubameyang. He may also not want to make the move to another Premier League club. So, for those reason's we can’t see this move happening.

Likelihood – slim
