This week’s Monday night action comes from Anfield as Liverpool host West Ham. Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool suffered their third defeat of the season away to Atletico Madrid mid-week in the Champions League. They will be looking to bounce back here with a win.
West Ham are without a league win since the 1st January and are in danger of falling deeper into the relegation zone. They are currently 18th, joint on points with 19th Watford and a match against the runaway leaders is the last thing they need. Will they be able to keep the Reds at bay?

Liverpool vs West Ham – The Form Guide
Liverpool were frustrated in their Champions League loss on Tuesday to a defiant Atletico Madrid side. It was the first time the senior side had failed to score since a 2-0 loss to Napoli in the same competition back in September. The Reds will still be favorites to overturn the 1-0 deficit at Anfield in the second leg and will certainly fancy their chances.
The Premier League is a different story altogether. The Reds have been unstoppable on the home front. 25 wins from 26 games is a record at this stage of the season. And perhaps the most spectacular stat is the number of goals they have conceded – a mere 15. Which remarkably is the same number they had let in at this stage last season.
West Ham are in a completely different boat. The Hammers have struggled to get going this season and have accumulated only 24 points, with only two coming in their last five games. They have scored 30 goals, which is two more than sixth placed Sheffield United, but they have the third worst defensive record (45).
David Moye's side lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Wednesday night in what was a one-sided affair. West Ham didn’t manage to take a single shot on target during the match and held only 23% of the possession. This means that the Hammers are in the relegation zone after 26 games played: the last time they were here at this stage (2011/12), they finished bottom of the league.
What is the Team News?
Jordan Henderson picked up a suspected hamstring pull against Atletico. The Liverpool captain has been at the heart of everything this season and will be a huge miss.
There are no other fresh injury concerns for the Reds with Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne the only long-term absentees.
The Hammers injury list is shortening, but they remain without several players. Jack Wilshere underwent surgery and won’t be on the field anytime soon.
Ryan Fredericks and Andriy Yarmolenko are both ruled out.
Liverpool Predicted Line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson, Milner, Fabinho, Winjnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane
West Ham Predicted Line-up: Fabianski, Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku, Rice, Soucek, Noble, Snodgrass, Antonio
Liverpool vs West Ham Latest Odds

As you would expect given those odds, West Ham are a huge price. If you fancy the London side to cause an upset, you’ll get 15/1 (16.0) with SportNation.
West Ham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw last at home. You can get a draw at 13/2 (7.5), again with SportNation.
Liverpool vs West Ham Score Prediction
In this fixture last season, Liverpool were convincing winners with a 4-0 scoreline, and we can see a similar score on Monday. The Red’s forwards always look likely to pounce, although they have not been at their electrifying best lately. Roberto Firmino last scored in the Red’s 2-0 win over Wolves on the 23rd of January and will be hoping to get on the score sheet in this one.
West Ham have scored only three goals against Liverpool in their last six league meetings, while Liverpool have hit 19. Therefore, we’re picking a big winning margin in favour of the home team.
We like the look of a 4-0 win to Liverpool at 19/2 (10.5) with SportNation.
Liverpool vs West Ham Tip
Liverpool have conceded only one goal in their last nine league outings. That came in the 2-1 win over high-flying Wolves in January. In that time, they have scored 24 times and will be difficult for West Ham to stop.
When looking for the betting value in matches like this with a strong favourite it can be tricky. Because Liverpool are so strong at the back, markets in which they keep a clean sheet are the most appealing. West Ham may be pegged back given Liverpool’s relentlessness at home, and we can’t see them penetrating through the Liverpool backline. In saying that, Liverpool may be hurting from their mid-week loss so a big scoreline might not be worth the risk.
With this in mind, our best bet is Liverpool to win to zero.
