It’s second vs third in Saturday’s late kick-off as Leicester welcome Manchester City to the King Power. The Foxes 2020 form has seen them slip behind further their Northern rivals in second, but a win here could bring them to within one point.
Manchester City seen off West Ham with relative ease on Wednesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side are out of the title race but will be aiming for a second-place finish. A win for them would put some daylight between the sides by opening a seven-point gap.

Leicester vs Manchester City – The Form Guide
Leicester were enjoying life under Brendan Rodgers in the early part of the season, putting together a club record run of eight straight wins. The run was ended with a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich on 14th December, since then the Foxes have gone on to win only three from nine.
Rodgers's side were held to a 0-0 draw on Friday night away to Wolves, and they have VAR to thank for the point. Wolves were denied a goal as Willy Boly was deemed to be a toe offside. Leicester won’t be too concerned about that match but do need Jamie Vardy back on form. Despite being the league’s top scorer, the Englishman hasn’t registered a goal yet in 2020.
Manchester City have won three of their last five league games. They lost away 2-0 to Jose Mourinho’s Spurs and drew with Crystal Palace in the other. The scoreline against Spurs didn’t reflect the play as City had 19 shots without finding a goal. Pep knows his side will need to be clinical here.
Kevin De Bruyne was the star of the show against West Ham with an assist and a goal. City put on a dominant display and looked more like the champions. In saying that, off-field drama won’t help them and they will need another champion like performance here to earn a win.
What is the Team News?
Rodgers will be without Hamza Choudhury for this one as he picked up two yellow cards in the Wolves draw. This leaves the Foxes a bit short in midfield.
Nampalys Mendy remains sidelined with a knee injury while Wilfred Ndidi is also a doubt with a similar injury.
Ryan Bennett won’t be able to face his parent club and Daniel Amartey needs surgery on his ankle.
David Silva will face a late fitness test as he picked up a knock against West Ham.
English International Raheem Sterling is making good progress but the earliest he is expected to return is for the Real Madrid match.
With the Champions League in mind, Pep may be tempted to rest a couple of his players. Sergio Aguero has had issues with injury this season so we would expect him to sit on the bench here.
Leroy Sane is on the road to recovery but won’t feature before March.
Leicester Predicted Line-up: Schmeichel; Ricardo Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell; Ndidi; Ayoze Perez, Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy
Manchester City Predicted Line-up: Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Mahrez
Leicester vs Manchester City Latest Odds
As with the reverse fixture, Leicester’s odds look very appealing. 888Sport have the home side at a generous 7/2 (4.5). They haven’t been at their best lately, but are more than capable of getting a result, especially in front of their own fans.
Manchester City start the match as hot favourites at 4/5 (1.8). Given their indifferent form, and the fact that they will have one eye on Europe, it’s difficult to put this in our bet slip.
If you fancy a draw, you’ll get a decent 3/1 (4.0) with 888Sport, which we think offers decent value.
Leicester vs Manchester City Score Prediction
This contest usually produces a good few goals with 20 goals between them in their last five meetings. Manchester City hold a 14-6 aggregate in that period which suggests Leicester will need to do something special to get a win here.
Jamie Vardy’s goal drought has got to come to an end sometime, and it could come here. Sergio Aguero is only one goal behind him in the golden boot race, but with the Argentine expected to be benched, this could be Vardy’s chance to build up a lead.
Of course, Manchester City have plenty of other goalscorers in their team. They are the league’s top scorers with 67. They have had 11 different goal scorers and we expect them to find the net again.
Bearing this in mind, we’re going to back a score draw here. A 2-2 scoreline gives you odds of 21/2 (11.5) with 888Sport.
Leicester vs Manchester City Tip
This is an open match. Both sides would have to slip up quite dramatically to fall out of the Champions League spots, so they can really push for a win. Leicester are the team with more to prove after going through a bit of a sticky patch, while City would love a positive result ahead of their Real Madrid clash.
We reckon there will be goals, and so this is where we’re looking for our best bet. Goalscorers look interesting with Vardy available at 8/5 (2.6) to score anytime, and De Bruyne at 16/5 (4.2). However, we’re going with a straight overs bet.
