With the weekend upon us, and a decent six Premier League fixtures to look forward to, we’ve been picking out our favourite bets. Popular betting markets such as goalscorers can be a nice addition to an accumulator, especially if you pick the favourites to score anytime. The odds can be relatively low, but still attractive and certainly attractive enough when you combine them. Bearing this in mind, we’ve put together a little goalscorer treble for the upcoming round of games, and if comes it – it returns a whopping 22/1 (23.0). Check out who makes the cut for us.
22/1 Premier League Goalscorer Treble
Southampton vs Burnley
Kick-off: 12.30 pm
The Saint’s host Burnley in what is predicted to be one of the most exciting games this weekend, from a neutral stance at least. Both sides have been surprising this year with Southampton's incredible turnaround, and Burnley have claimed a few scalps this season. The Saints attackers, in particular, Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond are on great form and are expected to create chances here, but for our goalscorer tip here, we’re going with the away side.
Burnley didn’t manage to score against Arsenal last time, but more than anything that was bad luck. Furthermore, a massive 69% of Southampton's home games have ended with both teams scoring so we expect them to get on the score sheet. Top scorer for the Clarets is Chris Wood. He is a big forward and can cause a lot of problems, particularly from set-pieces, which is where the Saints can struggle.
Anytime Goalscorer Tip: Chris Wood at 37/20 (2.85)
Aston Villa vs Tottenham
Kick-off: 2 pm
Spurs travel to Birmingham on Sunday to take on relegation-threatened Aston Villa. Jose Mourinho remains without a recognised striker with Harry Kane on the sidelines but he is loading his front line with attacking midfielders. Despite not having a striker, Spurs are scoring. In the other dugout, Dean Smith has a similar issue at the front with Wesley out for the season. His bigger problem is at the back however as the Villans have no kept a clean sheet in any competition since Boxing Day in 1-0 win over bottom of the table Norwich.
With this in mind, we think Spurs will score, and possibly get a few, and we’re singling out Son Heung-Min. The South Korean has been directly involved in 22 goals this season (14 goals, 8 assists). At 6/4 (2.5) to score anytime, he looks like a steal.
Anytime Goalscorer Tip: Son Heung-Min at 6/4 (2.5)
Arsenal vs Newcastle
Kick-off: 4.30 pm
Arsenal and Newcastle will do battle on Sunday evening; with both sides locked on 31 points, we expect it to be a tense affair. The Gunners are underachieving, particularly at home and Newcastle are doing better than expected considering their huge injury list. A classic isn’t expected but a bit of magic could kick start a good game of football and we think Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can provide that spark.
The Arsenal captain is the danger man and has already bagged 14 Premier League goals this season. The Gunners struggled without him and he looks like the player that could break the deadlock at the Emirates.
First Goalscorer Tip: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at 23/10 (3.3)
