The Premier League champions are set to be de-throned this season by Jurgen Klopp’s Red Army. Liverpool have stormed the league this year with Pep Gradual conceding defeat before the beginning of 2020. Manchester City have looked a shadow of their former selves this season suffering surprise defeats including a 3-2 loss to now bottom of the table Norwich.
Guardiola has bemoaned injuries this season, but with an enviable budget, it’s hard to feel sorry for the Spaniard. In saying that, when key players are missing from the first team it can make such a difference.

Manchester City Injuries and Team News
Injury: Knee (ACL)
Potential return: 29/02/2020
The German youngster who played a key part in City’s league win last season has been sidelined this campaign. It was in the early stages of the Community Shield win over Liverpool at Wembley that Sane’s right knee gave way damaging the anterior cruciate ligament. His speed and creativity has been missed and despite his absence, he has been attracting attention from other clubs, most notably Bayern Munich. Pep Guardiola has rubbished claims he is will to sell and has announced Sane returned to training in December. We could, therefore, see him make his return in the EFL Cup final on the 1st March.
Potential return: 26/02/2020
The England International suffered muscle damage to his left hamstring and was set to spend up to eight weeks on the sidelines. He has been instrumental for the Citizens this campaign and is a big loss for Pep. In saying that, rumours have been circulating that the injury isn’t as bad as first feared. Reports indicate that the 25-year-old will pass a fitness test and be ready to take on Real Madrid in the Champions League. If he makes it, he will boost City’s chances of getting the better of the Spanish giants.
Potential return: 19/02/2020
It’s his lack of fitness and match sharpness that has been ruling the Frenchman out of late. He came back from a lengthy lay-off recently and hasn’t quite been able to step up to the levels needed just yet. He is expected to come back into the team soon and could make an appearance against West Ham on the 19th of February.
