Norwich and Liverpool’s winter break comes to an end on Saturday evening when the Canaries host the league leaders. It’s bottom vs top in what looks like an uneven game on paper with a massive 55 points separating the two.
The Reds have won an incredible 24 out of 25 league games this season and while Norwich have managed only four. The Canaries shocked Manchester City here early in the season, can they do the same again to Liverpool? Best bet and predicted line-ups below.

Norwich vs Liverpool – The Form Guide
Norwich are floundering at the foot of the table and are now seven points from safety. They have won only one game in their last 12 league outings and have conceded a league-high of 47 goals. Unfortunately, they look set to drop straight back down the Championship as clubs around them put distance between then and the basement club.
In saying that, Norwich are capable of getting results. It’s easy to say they’ve been unlucky, but in all six of their draws they could have, and really should have won. That’s the difference in the Premier League and it looks as though the Canaries will pay the ultimate price.
In stark contrast at the top of the table, Liverpool have barely be troubled all season. Sure, there have been some gritty wins where lady luck has been on their side, but as the saying goes ‘you make your own luck’. Winning 24 Premier League games is no fluke and Liverpool’s unbeaten run will likely be stretched this weekend.
The Reds have been breaking all sorts of records this season and we expect them to get a few more. 73 points at this stage of the season is the most of any club ever and it’s not all about the attackers. Liverpool’s defence have given away only 15 goals this season – 11 fewer than the next best the league (Leicester 26).
What is the Team News?
Norwich will be grateful to see the return of Ben Godfrey here following his suspension. He will likely slot back into his centre back role with Grant Hanley making way.
Timm Klose remains out with injury while Ibrahim Amadou’s loan deal has come to end. The defensive midfielder will, therefore, play no further part for Daniel Farke’s side.
Jurgen Klopp and co should be feeling refreshed after the winter break. It may have provided the time needed for Xherdan Shaqiri, James Milner and Sadio Mane all to recover. All three players are expected to be available for selection which could spell trouble for Norwich.
In saying that, one eye may be on the Reds Champions League match just three days later against Atletico, but Klopp will likely go with his strongest side here.
Norwich Predicted Line-up: Krul; Aarons, Zimmermann, Godfrey, Byram; Tettey, McLean; Rupp, Duda, Cantwell; Pukki
Liverpool Predicted Line-up: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Norwich vs Liverpool Latest Odds
It’s going to be an uphill battle for the hosts who haven’t beaten their norther rivals since 1994. BetVictor have Norwich at 9/1 (10.0) to get the win, and even at those odds we wouldn’t be touching that outcome. Liverpool are a short 3/10 (1.3) but given their form it’s hard to see passed any other result than that.
A draw is priced at 9/2 (5.5) with BetVictor which is relatively high. However, this is more based on Noriwch’s outside chance of winning and it likely doesn’t hold value.
Norwich vs Liverpool Score Prediction
As well as having the worst defensive record, Norwich are the second lowest scorers in the league (24). Liverpool have netted almost three times as many with 60 so far. Sadio Mane looks set to return to the side with the African Player of the year being one of the stand-out performers this season. He already has 11 league goals to his name, and is a decent 18/5 with BetVictor to score first here.
Because Liverpool are so good going forward and tough to break down, it’s hard to see the Canaries scoring. Bearing this in mind, and the fact that the Reds have almost triple Norwich’s goal tally for the season, we’re picking a 3-0 scoreline in favour of the away team. You’ll get 8/1 (9.0) for that with BetVictor.
Norwich vs Liverpool Tip
It has the makings of a very one-sided affair, and the question is not will Liverpool win, but by how many goals will they win. Norwich need points and every point at this stage counts. We think they’ll sit back and invite Liverpool to attack which could be a dangerous move.
Mohammed Salah has come back from injury in good goalscoring form and is now only three goals behind league top scorer Jamie Vardy (17). Because we think Liverpool will get a few goals in this game, we’re looking at him to grab a couple. The Reds are bit too short for us to tip, therefore, Salah to score two or more is our best bet.
