Eddie Howe and his Bournemouth side are on a downward spiral having lost four league games in a row. Their 12th place position in the table is under attack, and a visit from the league leaders is the last thing they need.
Liverpool romped home a 5-2 derby win over Everton mid-week, scoring a couple of sumptuous goals. Had Sadio Mane been less wasteful with his chances, the scoreline could have been worse for the Toffees.
The Reds are expected to march to victory here on Saturday, but can the Cherries do anything to stop them? Find out our fancy for this one.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool – The Form Guide
The Cherries are in a rut. After a promising start to the season, they have won only once since the end of September. The 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening will sting the most, however, considering the Eagles played with 10 men for 70 minutes. Eddie Howe’s team offered little in attack as they rarely threatened the Palace goal managing only six shots all game.
Prior to this dire four-game run, Bournemouth had put together some nice results including a 1-0 win over Manchester United. They are strong when they play at home, and have only not found the net in one home game this season.
Liverpool are the contrast to most teams in the Premier League at the moment. Their display in the Merseyside derby emphasised the gulf in class between them and their neighbours. The most shocking part of the 5-2 victory was that Jurgen Klopp fielded a ‘weakened’ team. Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino started on the bench leaving Klopp's’ fringe players to shine, and that they did.
The Red’s remain unbeaten this season in the league, dropping points only once. They have an eight-point cushion at the top of the table over Leicester and look simply unstoppable. In saying that, they do have a weakness. Klopp’s team have a tendency to give away silly goals, and it will cost them sometime soon.
What is the Team News?
Eddie Howe’s injury list seems to be never-ending. Adam Smith was one of the few Bournemouth players who looked shard against Crystal Palace, but he picked up a knock. He is a major doubt here and will be a big loss.
Forward Joshua King remains sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Norway. He is due back soon but is unlikely to play a part here.
Defenders Charlie Daniels, Steve Cook, and Lloyd Kelly look set to miss this too due to injury.
While Andrew Surman, David Brooks, and Junior Stanislas are also on Howe’s doubtful list.
On top of that, Harry Wilson is ineligible to play against his parent club.
Goalkeeper Alisson has served his suspension following a red card and will likely be recalled by Klopp.
Joel Matip is recovering from an injury but this game might come just a little too soon for him. He is a doubt.
Fabinho, on the other hand, will definitely be on the sidelines.
Bournemouth Predicted line-up: Ramsdale; Francis, Mepham, Ake; Fraser, Lerma, Billing, L. Cook, Diego Rico; Solanke, C. Wilson
Liverpool Predicted line-up: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wijnaldum, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Bournemouth vs Liverpool Latest Odds
The league leaders are as short as 4/9 (1.44) to win with SportNation. From a betting point of view, it’s difficult to back such short odds, but it could be a nice addition to an accumulator. Bournemouth are available at 11/2 (6.7) which considering their injury list, and form seems quite tight.
SportNation have the draw at 4/1 (5.0) which could offer some value.
Bournemouth vs Liverpool Score Prediction
Bournemouth are able to score, especially at home, and Liverpool tend to concede, as well as score of course. For that reason, correct score’s in which both teams score look the most appealing. Liverpool will likely start with Salah, Firmino, and Mane; against the Cherries weakened defence through injury, this could spell trouble.
Therefore, we’re going to go for an outrageous 4-1 correct score for Liverpool at 17/1 (18.75) with SportNation.
Bournemouth vs Liverpool Betting Tip
Bournemouth have been in freefall lately, and we don’t see this being the game that turns things around for them. Liverpool are playing with real intent and intensity that the Cherries will likely not be able to cope with.
Although Bournemouth can hold their own at home, no team in the league (with the exception of a draw at Man United) have been able to contain Klopp’s red machine.
Therefore the betting angle has to be to back Liverpool in some context. As we mentioned, they are short at 4/9 (1.44) but that doesn’t mean there isn’t value. If you’re looking for a banker this weekend, then we’d say look no further than that.
If you’re looking for a greater potential return, we like the look of Liverpool with a -2 handicap at 14/5 (3.8) with SportNation.
