Crystal Palace make the trip to Burnley on Saturday on the back of four losses out of five Premier League games and will be looking to get back to winning ways. It will incidentally also be their first game outside of the capital since late August.
Hosts Burnley, on the other hand, are on the ascension after securing back-to-back 3-0 victories. These two sides have produced some highly entertaining games over the years. The Eagles have won this fixture on the last three time occasions, can they make it four in a row?

Burnley vs Crystal Palace– The Form Guide
Following three straight Premier League losses, Burnley have bounced back in style. The Clarets have won their last two games 3-0. They have lifted themselves to seventh in the table, and are one of only four teams to win their last two league games.
Although winning 3-0 in arguably the toughest league in the world, those wins did come against clubs that sit in the bottom four of the table. Previous to these matches, Sean Dyche’s team had only scored more than two against one other club, Southampton – who have the worst defensive record in the league. However, momentum is now with them, and they’ll fancy their chances against the Eagles.
At a glance you would say that Crystal Palace are struggling and they are, but not to a terrible extent. They have lost four of their last five league games, but those have been defeats to the current top four. The other was a 1-1 draw with Arsenal. On top of that, Palace were unlucky not to take anything from league leaders Liverpool last weekend having an early goal chopped off by VAR.
Previous to that, Palace had won four of eight games, including a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford. They have been playing some attractive football and will be determined to get back to winning ways on Saturday.
What is the Team News?
Midfielder Ashely Westwood is suspended after picking up five yellow cards. Danny Drinkwater might step-up in his place, but is still a doubt following a recent ankle injury.
Both Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Matej Vyrda have reportedly returned to training. Late assessments of both players will determine if they are capable of taking part or not.
Other than that, Dyche is unlikely to make any changes to his starting 11.
In contrast, Roy Hodgson has a bit more to ponder.
Joel ward is suffering from a knee injury and is judged a serious doubt. Martin Kelly is a decent replacement for him at right-back.
Wayne Hennessey might be recalled to the starting 11 in goal following Vicente Guita’s blunder against Liverpool.
Max Meyer is back in the fray following an injury lay-off. Meanwhile, Andros Townsend is expected to overcome a thigh problem.
Burnley Predicted line-up: Pope; Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; McNeil, Hendrick, Cork, Brady; Barnes, Wood
Crystal Palace Predicted line-up: Hennessey; Kelly, Cahill, Tomkins, Van Aanholt; Townsend, McArthur, Milivojevic, Kouyate, Zaha; Ayew
Burnley vs Crystal Palace Latest Odds
The home team lead the betting odds with 888Sport. Burnley to win is priced at 13/10 (2.3) with Palace currently trading at 23/10 (3.3). Both of those sets of odds sound quite appealing, with the Eagles big odds catching the eye.
In a contest that is bound to be close, the draw which is also at 23/10 (3.3) at 888Sport could be the way to go.
Burnley vs Crystal Palace Score Prediction
Despite the betting odds, we actually fancy Roy Hodgson and his team to get the better of their rivals here. Although Burnley have won by three goals in their last two games without conceding, the level of the teams they were playing was poor.
Palace have a relatively sturdy defence and good attacking options which could prove be too good for the Clarets.
Burnley vs Crystal Palace Betting Tip
This is a tough one to call. Crystal Palace have only picked up one point in five games, but have been playing well. They will see this as a chance to get some points on the board following a difficult run of games.
Burnley will be enjoying the high of winning their last two games to nil, and with Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes on decent form – they could cause problems for the Palace backline.
In saying all that, we still like the look of Palace to go back to London with three points. Because they are already decent odds to win, that’s what we’ll be backing.
