Tottenham vs Bournemouth – The Form Guide

There has been a lot said about Spurs form this season, but they could be turning a corner under new manager Mourinho. His side fell 2-0 behind Olympiacos after only 19 minutes on Tuesday in the Champions League, but in a night of high drama, Spurs went on to win 4-2. This has brought a real feel-good factor back with the club and in winning they also claimed a spot in the last 16 of Europe's elite competition.

In saying that however, Spurs should never be falling 2-0 behind poor Greek opposition. The is still a weakness in the team and this is why they sit only 10th in the Premier League. They beat West Ham 3-2 last weekend and were lucky to hold on for the win after being 3-0 up. Tottenham need to be stronger at the back in the league if they are aiming for a top four finish.

The Cherries have struggled with consistency this season. They have won only once in their last seven Premier League games and will be disappointed with having lost two games on the bounce. Eddie Howe’s side have been blowing hot and cold with moments of magic, and extreme sloppiness.

Interestingly, half of Bournemouth's 16 league goals this season have come from set-pieces. They have plenty of giants to get in the box to win balls and produce goals. This could cause a big threat to Spurs at the weekend.

What is the Team News?

Despite being subbed off after only 26 minutes, Eric Dier has no injury complaints. He was replaced by Christian Eriksen, and we have to wonder whether he will be given a start by Mourinho at the weekend.

Erik Lamela and Michel Vorm are working their way back to fitness, but won’t be expected to make the first team until the middle of December.

Dele Alli put in his second Man-of-the-match performance in his second game under new coach Mourinho. His place in the starting 11 is all but guaranteed.

Spurs remain without captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as he recovers from a painful elbow injury.

Eddie Howe has a few more issues than his counterpart. Captain Simon Francis was sent off against Wolves so misses the game through suspension, as does Philip Billing.

On top of his suspended players, Howe is likely to be without Andrew Surman and Lloyd Kelly who are both struggling with knee injuries.

Front-man Joshua King is still recovering from a thigh injury so will sit this one out. As will midfielder David Brooks but with a foot injury.

Furthermore, Dominic Solanke strained his thigh during a half-time warm-up at the weekend and will likely miss out. While Charlie Daniels and Junior Stanislas are also carrying knocks.

Predicted Line-Ups

Tottenham Predicted line-up: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Rose; Eriksen, Winks, Alli; Lucas, Son; Kane

Bournemouth Predicted line-up: Ramsdale, Gosling, S Cook, Aké, A Smith, L Cook, Lerman, Rico, Wilson, C Wilson, Fraser

Tottenham vs Bournemouth Latest Odds

Spurs could be on course for a decent winning streak and at 10/27 (1.37) the odds suggest this should be a relatively easy win for them. Bournemouth, although they did beat Spurs 1-0 last season at Dean Court, struggle when they are the away team to Spurs. The Cherries have conceded 10 times in the last three away games against Spurs which is why they are a high 6/1 (7.0) with 10bet to win. The draw also looks unlikely as it’s priced at 17/4 (5.25).

Tottenham vs Bournemouth City Score Prediction

We’re hoping for goals. Bournemouth are without their captain Simon Francis at the back, and Spurs will be looking to expose this weakness. Dele Alli is finally recapturing form and is a nuisance to opposition all over the field. This combined with Harry Kane’s goalscoring form, and Lucas Moura’s newfound confidence spells disaster for Eddie Howes’ men.

In saying that, Bournemouth are capable of hurting teams from set-pieces, and defending isn’t Tottenham's strength at the moment.

Because of this, we fancy Tottenham to score and concede. Therefore we’re going for a 3-1 scoreline for the home side at 21/2 (11.5) with 10bet

Tottenham vs Bournemouth Betting Tip

Mourinho will be hoping for a less dramatic encounter for this one, to show that winning at home is just business as usual. Spurs have got momentum on their side and are playing with confidence. A win on Saturday, depending on how other results go could lift them up to fifth in the table.

Bournemouth are only one point behind Spurs in the league and will likely play plenty of men behind the ball, relying on set-pieces to get their chances. But overall, Spurs should win it.

Harry Kane is receiving great service from Alli, Moura and Son Heung-Min and will be hungry for goals. We reckon he’ll get his name on the scoresheet.

With this in mind, we’re tipping Harry Kane to find the net first in this game at 5/2 (3.5).

Best bet: Harry Kane to score first at 5/2 (3.5) with 10bet
