Leicester vs Everton – The Form Guide
It’s got the makings of another fairy-tale season for Leicester fans. Their team are on a five-game Premier League winning streak. In the last three games, they have scored six and conceded zero, showing they can play attacking football and be tight at the back.
Jamie Vardy, although into his 30’s is playing some of the best football of his career. He has 12 Premier League goals making him the top scorer and doesn’t look like slowing down. James Maddison has been bossing the midfield and the likes of Ayoze Pérez have also been finding their shooting boots. Leicester are a force to be reckoned with and will fancy their chances against any team.
In contrast, Everton haven’t really got going this season after so much optimism in the summer. Silva is holding on to his job by a thread, and results will need to improve quickly. Everton have picked up only four points on the road this campaign. They have also lost seven of the opening 13 games, the third-worst in the league.
Silva spent a decent amount in the summer transfer window picking up the likes of Alex Iwobi for almost £30m, and ‘wonder kid’ Mouse Kean for around £25m. His signings haven’t made any impact but his squad is certainly bursting with potential. If they can ignite some passion, they could be a decent side and give Leicester a run for their money.
What is the Team News?
Brendan Rodgers is without the services of Matty James who remains sidelined with an achilles injury but would have been unlikely to play.
Jonny Evans is a doubt for the game, but Leicester will be hoping he can overcome a thigh complaint and be fit enough to start.
Aside from that, Rodgers has the pick of a young, fit and hungry squad.
Following a horrible injury sustained against Tottenham earlier in the season, midfielder Andre Gomes will miss out on this game, and most of the season. With Coco Martina also ruled out without a return date set with a knee injury.
Likewise, defensive midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin won’t return until January with a thigh injury.
Both Fabian Delph and Bernard are returning to fitness, but are not expected to be fit enough to play, which could make a big difference.
Leicester Predicted line-up: Schmeichel; Pereira, Evans, Söyüncü, Chilwell, Ndidi, Pérez, Tielemans; Maddison, Barnes, Vardy
Everton Predicted line-up: Pickford, Mina, Holgate, Digne, Coleman, Davies, Iwobi, Calvert-Lewin, G Sigurdsson, Tosun, Richarlison
Leicester vs Everton Latest Odds
Given the form that these two are in, Leicester are the clear favourites to take all three points. The Foxes are 13/20 (1.65) to win with 888Sport, and even those tight odds seem quite generous. A draw between these sides is 3/1 (4.0) and an unlikely away win for Everton is 4/1 (5.0).
Leicester vs Everton Score Prediction
Leicester are enjoying something of a purple patch in which they can do no wrong. Goals are coming easily and they are playing as a unit all over the pitch. Not only are they the leagues second-highest scorers with 31 goals, but they also boast the best defence in the league with only eight goals conceded. Everton, on the other hand, have scored barely more than a third of that tally with 13, and let in 20 at the other end.
Because of this, we fancy goals for Leicester. We’ll go for a whopping 4-0 at 22/1 with 888Sport.
Leicester vs Everton Betting Tip
Everton actually have a pretty decent record against Leicester, winning three of the last five meetings between the two. This will probably not count for much this weekend however as we expect Leicester to march on.
The Foxes are averaging around 2.4 goals a game so far this season. At home against struggling opposition, we can see this average climbing. Jamie Vardy is on electric form and it’s hard to bet against him continuing his impressive scoring streak. In bad news for Everton fans, this could be a drubbing.
With this in mind, our tip for the game is Jamie Vardy to score 2 or more goals at 23/5 (5.6)with 888Sport
