Mumbai Indians v Rajasthan Royals – The Form Guide
What a game it was on Wednesday between MI and KXIP. Chris Gayle was hammering every single shot for six until he was caught by Krunal Pandya off the bowling of Jason Behrendorff. Game changer? Nope. Step forward KL Rahul, who hit 100 not out to set a decent total of 197. Mumbai struggled early on, but as soon as captain Kieron Pollard came to the crease it was game on. He smashed 83 off just 31 balls get MI back into the match. Two were needed off the last ball for the win, which Joseph ensured they got.
MI are full of confidence heading into this one, but they’re very conscious of the fact that RR beat them twice last year, so they’ll need to be at the top of their game to claim the win.
As far as Rajasthan’s form goes, it’s two losses in a row now. After being hammered by the Knight Riders, they then lost out to CSK with the final ball of the game on Thursday. Four runs were needed, and the last ball from Ben Stokes was smashed for six by Santner to condemn RR to another loss.
Rajasthan captain, Ajinkya Rahane, stated after the defeat that he wouldn’t have changed anything. RR just need to keep doing what they’re doing and the wins will come. They might have even won the match if they’d managed to post 20 more runs in their innings. It’s a game of fine margins that’s for sure.
Rohit Sharma should be fine for Saturday’s game after feeling some discomfort in his thigh during a training session on Tuesday that caused him to miss out against KXIP.

Pitch and Weather Conditions
It’s going to be a hot one in Mumbai on Saturday. The humidity doesn’t look like it’ll be as high as previous matches, but it’ll still be testing for both sides. The wicket is expected to be a good one for batting, so expect some high scores once again. Bowlers could come under some pressure, so they need to ensure their overs are not too costly.
Mumbai are odds on with bookmakers to win here at odds of 4/7. The Royals are available at 5/4, which is understandable considering the two sides’ contrasting form.
Who will win the MI vs RR IPL T20 Match?
I’ve got to go with form here for this one and home advantage. Both of which favour Mumbai Indians. I thought they’d be slightly shorter in price in all honesty. I expect Mumbai to win this one. As we’ve seen recently, it could be decided by a great bowling display or a heavy hitter with a few balls left. I’m not sure how the match will pan out in terms of when it will end, but I expect MI to make it four wins from their last four.
Mumbai, although odds on, are a decent price when you compare the form of both sides. I think the wicket will suit the batters, and I think MI have the better batters in their side. Back the home team to win at odds of 4/7.
