Fulham vs Liverpool – The Form Guide
Fulham are pretty much down. I think their fans know that now, and the players probably know it. It’s six defeats on the bounce for the wide from West London, and it doesn’t get any easier at Craven Cottage. Manchester City are the next visitors after Liverpool.
Fulham have won just once at home all year, so forgive Fulham fans if they think their side will suffer a heavy defeat this weekend. The Cottagers did put up a valiant fight against Chelsea last time out at home, so they could give Liverpool a game if they start well.
This is a must-win for the Reds. They can’t afford any more slip ups if they’re to realise their dream of winning a Premier League title. Since the City defeat at the turn of the year, it’s been five wins and four draws for Liverpool. Not exactly title-winningng form with that many draws, and they can’t afford another one here.
Liverpool have won the last five in a row against Fulham, though, scoring 16 goals in the process. Expect another win on Sunday.
Team News – Injuries and Suspensions
Alfie Mawson and Marcus Bettinelli are still missing for Fulham with knee injuries. Ryan Babel looks set to start against his former club, but Andre Schurrle could again miss out due to illness.
As for Liverpool, Jordan Henderson is a huge doubt. He was forced off in midweek during the win in Munich. Naby Keita is still struggling. He missed the trip to Germany altogether with a muscular problem.
Fulham Predicted XI: Rico, Odoi, Nordtveit, Ream, Bryan, Chambers, McDonald, Cairney, Sessegnon, Babel, Mitrovic.
Liverpool Predicted XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Lallana, Salah, Mane, Firmino.
0-3. I just can’t see Fulham troubling Liverpool. The home side have to win to stand any chance of survival, and that could lead to panic at the back and sloppy passes. Liverpool will exploit that. The Reds have also won their last eight in a row against promoted sides. That will be nine in a row after Sunday.
There’s no value in the match result market, so let’s leave that one alone. Liverpool are 1/4, with Fulham priced at 11s.
Liverpool on the Asian Handicap at -1.75 looks the better bet. They should win this by a couple, so the odds on them at -1.75 at 10/11 looks appealing. We’ll take that, thank you very much.
