Milan vs Inter – The Form Guide
AC Milan are enjoying an incredible run of form. You have to go back to before Christmas to find the last time Milan lost in the league. It was a 1-0 home defeat to Fiorentina. Since then, it’s been seven wins and three draws in 10 games.
When a derby comes around, they say form goes out of the window. AC Milan need to up their game on Sunday against rivals Inter. Not only because it’s a derby, but also because they’ve not beaten Inter in the league since January 2016.
Inter head into the Derby di Milano on the back of Europa League heartache. They were dumped out of the competition by Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek. Domestically, it’s been a bit of a mixed bag recently, too. They beat a poor SPAL side 2-0 last time out but lost away at Cagliari the week before. Previous to that, they blew a 3-1 lead away at Fiorentina to draw 3-3.
2-1. Inter won the reverse fixture 1-0, but you can’t ignore how good AC Milan have been recently. Their fans deserve some cheer against their rivals, and I think they’ll get it here. Inter blew the chance of Europa League success on Thursday night, and I think that may play a part this weekend. Milan know a win against their rivals will almost certainly give them Champions League football next season. They won’t want to pass that up.
Although the last couple of games have been tight between the two sides, there are always plenty of chances. Four have the last six meetings have seen over 2.5 goals scored, and I think there will be goals in this one. Over 2.5 goals looks decent value at odds of 11/10, so that’s the bet for me.
If you’re feeling brave and want better odds, consider AC Milan in the Match Result and Over 2.5 Goals market at odds of 3/1.
