Chelsea Flattered By Win Against Baggies At The Bridge

Sometimes the final scoreline doesn't tell the full story about a match. That was definitely the case at Stamford Bridge on Monday night. Chelsea beat West Brom 3-0, but The Baggies were far better than the result suggests. Only for a couple of superb stops from Courtois it could have been a lot different.

Two goals in eight minutes just after the hour mark sealed the points for Chelsea and Conte could breathe a sigh of relief. The Blues are back in action against Hull in the FA Cup on Friday night, but a top 4 Premier League finish is their priority.

Chelsea Fans Behind Conte

The Stamford Bridge faithful chanted Conte's name after the win and the under fire Italian thanked them for their support. He said: “I have to thank the fans. They showed me great support because they are reading speculation and rumours about me. I’m grateful to the fans for supporting me in this way.”

“It means that, maybe in our 18 months together, they understand my passion and my will to defend these colours, this shirt, this badge. To feel this atmosphere around me is very important. It’s very important to feel that people appreciate my work here in Chelsea. For me it’s important.”

Future Uncertain At Stamford Bridge

Speculation is rife that Roman Abramovich's notoriously itchy trigger finger is getting twitchy yet again. Conte is in a precarious position and it was reported that Chelsea held preliminary talks with Luis Enrique over the weekend.

It is looking more than likely that Conte could be on his way out before the end of the season. If he does go he can be proud of his achievements, and he would leave as a Premier League champion. Conte certainly won't be out of work for long, and he will be in high demand if he does receive his P45.
