Harry Kane has hogged most of the headlines at Spurs this season, and rightly so. He is breaking records left, right and centre and he deserves all the plaudits coming his way. However, another Tottenham attacker has also had a fine season, and Mauricio Pochettino has not overlooked his contribution.
He may not get as many column inches as Kane, but Heung Min Son has excelled for Spurs this term. The Korean striker secured a point for Spurs with a goal vs West Ham, his 10th of the season. He has become a key player for Tottenham, and Pochettino praised him during the week.
Pochettino: Son Has Shone
Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the media during the week and he revealed how highly he and his coaching staff regard Son. He said:
“Personally, us the coaching staff, we've given him the credit he deserves. When you are next to Harry Kane, achieving all he is and scoring so many goals, it's normal that the focus is on Harry Kane.”
Tottenham Top 4 Battle
With the Premier League now well past the halfway stage, Spurs are in a perilous position. A top 4 finish would have been the minimum expected of them this season, but they are currently in 5th. Tottenham are 3 points behind Liverpool who are 4th, with Arsenal 2 points behind Spurs in 6th.
The top 4 battle looks sure to go down to the wire, and at this stage it is too tough to call who will make it. City are streets ahead of the rest, so it looks a battle between Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd. The January transfer window could be crucial and Spurs will be hoping that any moves they make work out.
