Speculation has been rife that there has been a fallout between Mauricio Pochettino and Danny Rose. However, the left back is adamant that there is no issues between the two and Pochettino has said the same. Rose reacted badly to his substitution in Wednesday night's Champions League win vs Apoel. Plenty of people saw this as clear evidence of a rift between the two, but Rose has set the record straight.
No Issue For Rose
After his substitution vs Apoel Rose did have words with his manager as he didn't want to come off. However, he revealed he suffered a cut to his head and that was the reason for the change. Speaking to the press he revealed: “The manager said it was best I came off and I didn’t want to come off. That was it. I’ve seen already that people are saying we exchanged words.”
“There is no issue between me and the manager. There has never been an issue. And people trying to put stuff in the media is not welcomed. For the last three and a half years, four years, the manager has been my biggest fan. He’s given me nothing but love and respect. There is no issue. There never will be an issue. People need to stop this because it’s not welcomed.”
Poor Premier League Form
Although Spurs cruised into the knockout stages of the Champions League they are struggling domestically. They haven't won for 4 games and they are now only 6th in the Premier League table. Tottenham are a massive 18 points behind the leaders Man City and their title hopes have evaporated.
Spurs welcome Stoke to Wembley on Saturday afternoon and it is a must win match. They are 4 points behind 4th placed Liverpool and it is possible they could drop points vs Everton on Sunday. It would represent a big regression if Spurs missed out on the Champions League next season, so it is vital that they get into the top 4.
