Liverpool smashed seven past Spartak Moscow at Anfield on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp's men produced a sensational performance, but he won't let his team rest on their laurels. After Liverpool's last big win vs Maribor they were hammered by Spurs, and Klopp doesn't want a repeat vs Everton. The Toffees make the short trip to Anfield for what should be a cracking Merseyside Derby on Sunday. Klopp is well aware of the threat posed by Big Sam's men.
Klopp Message To Fans
Anfield will be packed to the rafters on Sunday and Klopp has urged Liverpool fans to get right behind the team. When Anfield is rocking it can be an intimidating place for Liverpool's opponents. He wants that to be the case for Everton on Sunday. Speaking to the press after the Spartak match he said:
“We need all the boys, we need all the boys for the next few weeks, but especially in this week for the next game on Sunday. We showed tonight that we learned from the mistakes we made in Sevilla. Now we have to show we have learned from the mistakes after Maribor when we faced Tottenham. We will be ready again on Sunday. If the crowd is ready to help us it would be nice again.”
Strong At Home
It has been 8 long years since Everton last beat Liverpool in the Premier League, and that was at Goodison. You have to go back to 1999 for Everton's last win at Anfield, and it is unlikley that they will end that losing run on Sunday.
Liverpool have really hit top form in recent weeks and the so called fab four are running amok. Mo Salah in particular is tearing defences apart at will, and Firmino has looked lethal at times too. Liverpool are purring right now and their fans will be hoping for another big win in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday.
