We all remember the speculations around potential transfer of Luis Suarez from Liverpool. Arsenal nearly signed the player in August with Real Madrid and other big clubs also linked with the move for the Uruguay star.
Now having a fantastic season at Anfield Road Suarez admitted he is happy at the club and has no plans of leaving after this season. What is more he stated he won't change him mind even if the Reds fail to qualify for Champions League.
“I signed my new contract because I'm very happy here and I want to stay where I'm enjoying football and life. Playing in the Champions League isn't dependent on that.” he said.
“I'd actually prefer not to win this Golden Boot and for Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League this season. Any player would miss the Champions League. We've not been good enough since I've been here to qualify, but this could definitely be our year. It would be a frustration not to get fourth because we've done everything possible and given our maximum to qualify.” he added.
Liverpool is currently second in the Premier League table just 4 points behind leading Chelsea. At the same time they have 6 points advantage over 5th place Tottenham, which means that with 10 games to be played they are quite close to Champions League qualification.
