STS Review for Football Betting in the UK

One thing we know many of you are wary of is a new bookmaker to the UK market. STS is one such of these, having only been founded in 2016 with it being a Polish-led bookie. This makes it one of the newest bookies to the UK football betting scene.

But does that make it something you should avoid? Not necessarily! This STSbet review takes you through the key features you need to know about. Want to know if STS odds are competitive or if the STS sign up offer is worth it? We’ve got you covered.

New Customers Start Here — STS Sign Up Offer

Your first port of call should always be the welcome offer, as this is an excellent way to learn the STS sportsbook and betting interface. You only get one chance to claim the STS sign up offer, so be sure to not skip over this next bit…

Our eyes lit up when we saw the legend that is Peter Schmeichel promoting STS’ welcome offer. At the time of writing, this is up to £50 in cash for new UK customers.

This is a fairly straightforward process, too. All you need to do is:

  1. Shoot over to the STS website and get your account registered.
  2. Navigate the sportsbook and make your first deposit of £20 or more
  3. Enter the bonus code: SBK50 in the deposit menu
  4. You will then need to wager £100 in qualifying bets (odds of 4/5 1.8, or higher)
  5. Once your bets are settled you will receive £5 in cash
    6. Repeat a further nine times for the maximum £50 in cash

It’s an interesting offer and a bit different from what we normally find in a sportsbook. That said, it does offer value to players. Granted you have to place £100 in your own funds to earn only £5, but the £5 is wager free.

We contacted support to find out about time limits and were pleased that they informed us that there is no time limit. Therefore, if you continue to play on STS then you will earn £5 in cash as you play. Most bookmakers have around a 30 day limit on welcome offers so this is good to see.

Furthermore, you can deposit as many times as you need.

STS Offers For Existing Players

Once you’ve been through the welcome bonus, you’re free to explore the other STS bonus offers and promotions.

Although there’s a range of promotions across other sports, such as American football and tennis, as well as the casino, we at Premier League Press are only focused on UK football betting options. These are the current ones for you to take advantage of:

  • Acca Insurance — 100% stake refund up to £50 if one leg lets you down.

That’s actually quite a thin list when you compare STS to other top UK betting sites. We feel this is mainly due to how new the bookie is to the industry, so expect the offers to come in time.

Is STSbet Safe Considering How New It Is?

A certain element of risk is undoubtedly involved when depositing money into a new bookmaker. We always advise people to be cautious, but that’s the main reason why STS reviews exist. Sure, having the best football odds is a huge bonus, but not if there’s a risk of money laundering.

Our goal is to provide you with peace of mind when using STS for UK football betting. And so, with this in mind, we need to focus on the following points:

  • Official regulation.
  • Market infancy and what that means.
  • Site security and safety.
  • Responsible gaming measures.
  • Rewards and fines.

Let’s go through these in turn. Stick with us…

Is STS Regulated?

We’re pleased to confirm that the operating company — STS.Bet Ltd — is appropriately licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. This means that, by law, STSbet is able to provide betting services to the UK public. Great news!

Also, STS.Bet Limited is registered in Malta, which is the iGaming powerhouse country. The top UK betting sites are registered in Malta, so consider this a sign of STS’ serious intention in the gaming industry.

But, STS Is New to the Market

Being a new betting company doesn’t mean that the people behind it don’t know what they’re doing. The team at STS will have a wealth of knowledge, with departments full of staff experienced with some of the other top bookies in the UK. All bookies have to start from somewhere, right?

If anything, new and smaller bookies can offer better odds because they have less to lose and everything to gain. If all the main features of a high-quality UK bookmaker exist, then you have nothing to fear.

What Security Measures Does STS Have in Place?

It was disappointing to see that the bookie doesn’t offer up its security features that well. It took our knowledge of site security to learn that STS does have an SSL certificate for its site. We can’t confirm the level of the SSL protection, but what this does mean is that a high level of encryption is used for your personal and banking information.

Responsible Gaming Measures

All UK bookmakers, by law, have to publish information on responsible gaming. The level of detail in how they do this is mostly up to them, and the information on this in the site FAQs is really poor.

When we compare STS to top football bookies, there’s definitely room for growth here. Even so, STS does host the following responsible gaming entities on its site:

  • GambleAware.
  • Gambling Commission.
  • eCOGRA.

When opening an account, you’re encouraged to set daily, weekly and monthly deposit. This isn’t anything groundbreaking and is a requirement by the regulator. Once in your account, you can change your limits at any time, but there’s a 24-hour cooling-off period if you wish to increase or remove a limit, which then needs additional confirmation.

There are additional responsible gaming steps you can take yourself, which can be found under “My Profile.” These are:

  • Self-exclusion.
  • Time-out.
  • Reality check.

If you choose to self-exclude, once you’ve confirmed the time frame, you’re unable to reverse this. You have to wait for that period to elapse, and once it has, you need to request for your account to be reopened. Self-exclusion time limits with STS are:

  • 6 months.
  • 1 year.
  • 3 years.
  • 5 years.
  • Infinite.

A time-out option is a good idea if you need a shorter break, and these range from 1 day up to 6 weeks. You won’t even be able to log into your account during the set period.

The reality check option will notify you via a pop-up once you’ve been playing for a certain amount of time — from 10 minutes to 8 hours. Note that this only applies to casino.

These are all positive features of responsible gaming, but we feel the information should be more prominent, especially in the FAQ section.

Has STS Been Fined or Won Awards?

To our knowledge, STS hasn’t been fined or won any awards. This isn’t unexpected, though, being how new it is to the gaming industry. We take this as a positive since to be fined so early on would be a disastrous start. Winning awards so soon in the company’s journey would be surprising, but there’s no reason why it won’t win mainstream awards in the future. Watch this space.

Depositing With STS for Football Betting

As with all of the top football betting bookmakers, deposits into your account with STS are instant. The only exception here is if you need to complete a Know Your Customer questionnaire.

Also, STS doesn’t appear to charge for deposits, although this information is absent from its site. Customer services did confirm this with us, though.

STS Deposit Methods

The deposit methods available at STS are:

  • Debit card
  • Skrill.
  • Skrill 1-Tap.
  • Bank transfer.
  • ecoPayz.
  • Neteller.
  • Rapid.
  • MuchBetter.

It’s good to see a broad range of options here, which is something not all more-established football bookies offer.

Skrill and Neteller, especially, are the two most popular alternative banking methods for football betting, so this is a definite plus point for STS. Find out more about payment methods for sports betting here.

STS Deposit Limits

We were disappointed that there’s zero information on minimum and maximum deposit limits for the abovementioned deposit methods. There’s no mention of this in the FAQs, blog or when you go to make a deposit.

There’s definite room for improvement here, and since the company is new, perhaps they’ll improve on this soon.

The Withdrawing Experience at STS Bet

Here’s how to withdraw from your STS account:

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Hover your mouse over your avatar in the top right.
  3. Select “Withdraw.”
  4. Choose your preferred banking method.
  5. Enter the ID — if required.
  6. Enter the amount.
  7. Click “Submit.”

Even though there’s no information on whether STS will charge for a withdrawal, it’s highly unlikely they will. It doesn’t make sense for a UK bookie to charge the player for getting access to their winnings.

Do lookout for a charge from your chosen payment provider, though, since we know some will charge you to withdraw from that wallet to your bank account.

We also don’t know how long withdrawals will take. This will vary depending on the method, with e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller tending to be faster than other methods. As a rule of thumb for all UK bookies, expect funds in your account with 5 working days.

Withdrawal Methods at STS

At the time of writing, these are the withdrawal methods at STSbet:

  • Debit card.
  • Skrill.
  • Bank transfer.
  • ecoPayz.
  • Neteller.

It’s strange to be able to deposit with MuchBetter and Rapid, but not be able to withdraw to them. We’ve enquired with customer services as to this but have yet to receive an answer. This could be an issue with the payment provider or just a glitch on the bookie’s site.

Fortunately, these two methods aren’t the most popular alternative payment options, and we know most of you would look at using a bank card, Skrill or Neteller.

Withdrawal Limits

As with deposits, there are no advised limits for withdrawals at STS. This is another instance where more information needs to be provided to the public.

Note that unless you’ve deposited via a particular method, you won’t be able to withdraw any winnings to that same method. This is common for all bookmakers and is to prevent money laundering.

All There Is to Know About Premier League Betting With STS

STS is one of the few UK betting sites that we hit a hurdle with straight away when trying to navigate the Premier League markets.

The front screen couldn’t load properly, and we couldn’t log out of our account, but all was rectified within a few seconds. The good news is the UKPL was prominent on the home page with some selected focus games appearing in the main window of the home page.

We picked on the upcoming match between Leicester City and Chelsea and drilled into the markets. The page did load slowly, which is in line with the home page issues. Clearing the cache and a classic restart didn’t seem to fix this.

Despite the problems, it was nice to see that the betting slip popped up efficiently and it was pretty clear. The orange theme is slightly off-putting but isn’t a deal-breaker. Adding multiple bets was straightforward, too, although you have to select this from a dropdown rather than being able to see the multi-bet options on the bet slip.

Football Betting Odds and Markets with STS

We know the best football odds are going to be a focus for many of you, so we’ve analysed the odds in comparison to some of the best Premier League odds in the business over at bet365.

There were mixed results between the two. The Premier League outright market odds at STS were much worse in some respects — by a significant amount — while drilling down into some Match Odds markets, STS faired better. It was a pain to find some markets, though, with the dropdown to select the markets being clipped by another frame on the site.

What we can say is that STS has competitive odds in places, but you need to be selective on the markets you choose and do your research.

Even so, the number of markets that STS offered across most Premier League games was over double that of bet365’s — this is a rare occurrence considering bet365 is often known to be the place for most markets.

Mobile Football Betting Options with STS

Currently, STS hasn’t developed an app, either for iOS nor Android customers. This isn’t to say that one isn’t in development, though, although we’d like to see a new betting site develop an app shortly after its inception to meet the increasing demands of mobile football bettors. Check out our recommended mobile betting apps with our dedicated page.

There is a mobile-friendly website, though. Initial impressions were good with a fast loading time; however, the mobile home screen only featured the welcome offers without a prominent menu for browsing the site. We had to scroll down to the footer menus to get into the sportsbook without logging in.

Once in the markets, though, the site was responsible and all the markets and odds were the same. The market-browsing was even easier on mobile than on the desktop!

The STS Customer Service Experience

Currently, the only way of getting in touch with customer support is via email: support@stsbet.co.uk. We much prefer the live chat experience since it’s pretty much instant. As STS grows, perhaps they’ll introduce live chat and a web form.

There is some information in the FAQ section; however, it’s really thin on the ground and is unclear. The formatting means it’s hard to separate the questions from the answers, making it look like a wall of text.

The small interaction we did have with customer support, though, was pleasant and helpful.

Should You Register With STSBet for Football Betting in the UK?

If you’ve made it all the way through our STSbet review, you’ll know there’s a fair amount to improve on for this newbie bookmaker. Much of it is tidying up areas that other bookies excel at; areas that, when complete, could make it more competitive with the likes of William Hill, 888Sport and bet365. Information on deposits and withdrawals is considerably lacking.

There are some pluses, though. We were pleased to see instances of more competitive odds when compared to a top UK bookmaker. On top of this, having some alternative banking methods already is very positive.

It’ll be interesting to see how STS evolves, and we’ll be sure to keep a close on them. At the very least, we advise that you should consider the sign-up offer. A £40 bonus is nothing to scoff at!

  • SSL encryption.
  • No fines.
  • Competitive odds in some respects.
  • Huge depth of markets.
  • Simple betting experience.
  • Responsive mobile site.
  • Helpful customer service department.

  • Alternative payment methods not included for the welcome offer.
  • No information on-site security.
  • FAQs area needs to be more clear and more expansive.
  • Lacking information on deposits and withdrawals.
  • Home page loading issues.
  • No mobile betting app.
  • No live chat.
