After all the uncertainty, it has been announced that the Premier League season will be completed. All indications point to an 8th June restart date, but that is subject to government restrictions being lifted. Therefore, the season could realistically come to an end in late July or August.
While this is good news, it throws up questions surrounding players whose contracts expire on 30th June. UEFA have stated that ‘rolling contacts’ will come in to place to allow players to remain at their current club; meaning that contracts effectively run until the season officially ends.
There are almost 70 Premier League players in this position that will have to either negotiate new contracts or sign for a new club. In these uncertain financial times, it could have a negative effect on where they end up. Check out what players your club could let go of in this transfer window here.
Arsenal Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Matt Macey | 25 | Goalkeeper |
The Gunners are one of the few teams who have little to worry about. Third choice goalkeeper Matt Macey is their only player who is affected by the situation. New boss Mikel Arteta will be far more interested in deals coming in the other way.
Aston Villa Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Keinan Davis | 22 | Centre Forward |
Borja Baston | 27 | Centre Forward |
Matija Sarkic | 22 | Goalkeeper |
Bournemouth Players out of Contract

Andrew Surman | 33 | Centre-mid |
Charlie Daniels | 33 | Left-back |
Jack Simpson | 23 | Centre-back |
Artur Boruc | 40 | Goalkeeper |
Scotland winger Ryan Fraser has constantly been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool during the last few transfer windows and could now leave for nothing. He hasn’t had his best season for the Cherries, but they will be keen to get a new deal over the line. At 26, Fraser may want to move on especially as Bournemouth are in a relegation scrap.
Eddie Howe will be hoping to hold on to a few of his stars who are nearing the end of their contracts or Bournemouth could be in trouble.
Brighton Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Ezequiel Schelotto | 30 | Right-back |

Aaron Lennon | 33 | Right-wing |
Joe Hart | 33 | Goalkeeper |
Phil Bardsley | 34 | Right-back |
Adam Legzdins | 33 | Goalkeeper |
Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart looks set to be looking for a new club come the transfer window. Nick Pope has been preferred to Hart between the sticks and has had a sterling campaign so far. Hart is said to be wanting to secure first-team action so he will surely move on.
Sean Dyche will be hoping to secure new deals for the likes of Jeff Hendrick and Ashley Westwood.
Chelsea Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Willian | 31 | Right-wing |
Pedro | 32 | Right-wing |
Olivier Giroud | 33 | Centre-forward |
Marco van Ginkel | 27 | Centre-mid |
Willy Caballero | 33 | Goalkeeper |
The Chelsea staff have some decisions to make during this window. There are several big-name players who could be departing from the club with a whimper. Willian’s consistency has been a topic of discussion during his six-year spell, but there is no denying he is an excellent player. Contract negotiations have stalled with the Brazilian looking for a three-year extension. The Blues will either give in to his demands or let the £20m+ rated player leave for nothing.
Crystal Palace Players out of Contract

Scott Dann | 33 | Centre-back |
Stephen Henderson | 31 | Goalkeeper |
Everton Players out of Contract

Liverpool Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Adam Lallana | 31 | Attacking-mid |
Nathaniel Clyne | 29 | Right-back |
Andy Lonergan | 36 | Goalkeeper |
Adam Lallana has featured only in short blasts for Jurgen Klopp’s runaway leaders. He hasn’t been able to cement a place in the starting XI and his departure is very likely. The 31-year-old may not be able to demand the wages of other stars, but plenty of teams will be interested in signing the talented winger. A move within the Premier League to the likes of Spurs or Leicester seems the most likely.
Manchester City Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
David Silva | 34 | Attacking-mid |
Claudio Bravo | 37 | Goalkeeper |
David Silva will be remembered as a cult hero by the Manchester City faithful. He has spent a decade at the club, winning 11 trophies in that time. No doubt Pep Guardiola would have wanted to give him a deserved goodbye party, but that will surely not happen now for the Spaniard. He has made no secret of wanting to return to his homeland and is one player pretty much guaranteed to move on.
Manchester United Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Timothy Fosu-Mensah | 22 | Right-back |
Nemanja Matic penned a new deal with United earlier in the year leaving only Timothy Fosu-Mensah on the departure list. It’s hard to see United pushing for a renewal so he could very well be on his way out of the club.
Newcastle United Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Andy Carroll | 31 | Centre-forward |
Javier Manquillo | 25 | Right-back |
Matty Longstaff | 20 | Defensive-mid |
Karl Darlow | 29 | Goalkeeper |
Jack Colback | 30 | Defensive-mid |
Rob Elliot | 33 | Goalkeeper |
Jamie Sterry | 24 | Right-back |
Well, plenty of faces could be leaving St. James’ this summer. With new owners likely taking charge, it’s hard to say who will stay and who will go. Andy Carroll hasn’t been the goal machine he once was and could be searching for a new club. Teenager Matty James has enjoyed a decent breakthrough season and the club will likely want to hold on to the rising star. The right contract will have to be put before him, however, and this has not yet materialised.

Spurs Players out of Contract
Player | Age | Position |
Jan Vertonghen | 32 | Centre-back |
Japhet Tanganga | 21 | Centre-back |
Michel Vorm | 36 | Goalkeeper |
Jan Vertonghen has been a Spurs player for eight years and has established himself as a fan favourite. The Belgian hasn’t enjoyed the best season of his career so far, but with over 300 league appearances for Spurs is surely one of the pillars of the dressing room. Rising star Japhet Tanganga is lined up to take his place, so Vertonghen looks set to say goodbye.
